Sun That Did Not Shine

At the entrance Sir Waleed stood for a while and then entered the class with the usual pages in his hand. "Those who have not submit fee stand up" he swirls the stick in hand "or I am going to name each of them".

Hameed as always stood up in hesitation and murmured the same words he used to say since last week. "Sir, my father will come to school today" he whispered. Sir Waleed raised his eyes from papers. "Oho, who the hell get you admission here" then he remembered it was Sir Imran who gave him free admission "and haa, when will your father come to school? Please ask him to come before doomsday, you duffer"  and with this Sir Waleed pointed Hameed to go out of class to get his 'prize'.

In the school when you would fight with someone so the final argument would be ' taa laa de khday da sir waleed inaam darke'

It means ,"I pray you get Sir Waleed's prize".

And with the removal of Sir Imran , it was easy for Sir Waleed to provide everyone with his prizes.

The last day when Sir Imran was fired due to his teaching styles because he could not tolerate if a teacher would beat a student. He would broke into other teacher class. And made himself bails man that coming day student would do homework. For students like Hameed, he would pay from his sallery and on first of newborn month when every teacher would have hot pocket. He would have to pay the school fee of Hameed and others.

After getting good prize of aeroplane from Sir Waleed, Hameed went to his corner position while making his eyes red by rubbing with sleeves.

On the way to home Usman, his only friend, told him the story of how people donate their body parts after death. "What do those people get in returns?" Hameed asked "and what if someone ask for payment?" He ended this with an excitement in his emotions. " I don't think people need money after death" to make his point more reasonable he said, "and have you not listen Ameer Rahman Qari saeb last jummah sermon that there is no pocket in coffin" at this point Usman felt a little more religious by quoting the words of a man who claimed to be a 'sayyed' the heirs of Holy Prophet. "But still if someone's family ask for it so surely, they will get it" by hearing what Hameed wanted to hear, he chuckled. He embraced Usman as they had to part their ways.

Hameed mother was a maid in neighbourhood. She had to go there about six a.m and then returned at three p.m in evening. Father, being the gardener in same house would come home with wife.

Hameed checked eggs in hen den and fortunately he got one. He fried and ate it.

Hameed slept a while before going to Madrassa for evening Quran lessons. Suddenly he got up from bed and set to write a letter.

In the evening when Father and Mother came home they found that all doors were open. Suddenly a scream came from Hameed room. It was of mother. Father approached her. He found that his only son had committed suicide. In his hand was a piece of paper. On it, it was written,"sell my body parts and pay my fee. Will meet you in the next world, where I am going. Forgive me. Your sun that doesn't shine."
